It’s no secret that we’re a fan of both wine and cocktails at Evachill HQ. So if there’s a cocktail that features wine as the main ingredient then it’s music to our ears! Our absolutely favourite wine-based cocktail is the Hugo.
One of the great things about a Hugo cocktail is that it doesn’t contain loads of special ingredients. It’s just wine, elderflower and fruit mixed together. This also makes the Hugo super refreshing to drink so it’s perfect to enjoy on hot days.
How to make the perfect Hugo cocktail
30ml of elderflower syrup
70ml of Prosecco or sparkling wine
1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves
1/2 lemon cut into slices
1. Put all of the ingredients into a wine glass and stir gently.
2. Enjoy the perfect Hugo cocktail.
That’s it! Just 2 simple steps and 4 ingredients. That’s one of the reasons why we love making Hugos!
If you don’t feel like drinking an alcoholic Hugo then you can simple take out the Prosecco or sparkling wine and use sparkling water or a sparkling elderflower based soft drink instead.
The quantity we’ve listed for our ingredients will fill one wine glass with a Hugo cocktail. If you want to make a larger batch so you can take it out with you, simply fill your Evachill bottle up with the whole bottle of Presecco. Then take the elderflower syrup and fruit with you and voila, you can enjoy fridge cold Hugo cocktails all day!
